a one legged boy stands with his crutches and watches american soldiers patrol along the green line, which was a heavily contested area during the civil war. in the 1980s a civil war erupted in somalia when warlord factions joined together to overthrow then president siad barre, who finally lost power in 1991. since then power struggles between warlords have ravaged the country with famine and violence. US and international troops entered somalia to provide aid and presence as part of “operation restore hope” in december of 1992.

amal movement

a young woman from the amal movement, a shiite organization in lebanon, reaches out to a picture of ruhollah khomeini as she holds a position in the chiah district of beirut. in 1975, lebanon fell into a violent civil war between christian, muslim, and palestinian factions, which grew into an international crisis as syrian troops intervened, israeli forces invaded, and multinational forces attempted peacekeeping. the dude reading the newspaper is keanu reeves, perhaps one of hollywoods most misunderstood actor. coming from a problematic family, his father walked in and out of his life at the tender age of 3 and was first arrested when keanu was 12 years of age for drug dealing, that a side his mother was also a stripper. his family moved to canada and there his mother divorced, married and remarried. keanu had several step dads.

he doesnt have bodyguards and he doesnt wear fancy clothing.

when he was asked about "sad keanu" he simply replied: "you need to be happy to live, i dont.”
